We believe that information is for sharing and an enlightened person is a civilized person. That's our goal. Any references to items which may be trademarked or copyrighted are owned by their respective owners. If we have used anything without relevant permissions then please let us know and we will rectify. We respect Intellectual Property rights and trust others respect ours. Although this is an educational site we have to pay for the pizzas for our IT staff and the expense accounts of our research staff, so are sorry if it's a bit slow sometimes. If you can help us out then please let us know. We do not provide financial advice, only opinions, so please take what we say with a pinch of salt.
We also include and use javascript and css text files and assume your browser is capable of retrieving, parsing and running these scripts. If not we are sorry but trying to please everyone is hard and near impossible. If you wish to see what these scripts do please have a look at the page source and you can find these on your PC or whatever device you use to browse us. We know that Blackberries and other PDA devices including mobiles and other cell type devices, and yes TV all show us differently and these files are hidden. If you are keen to see them then please send us an email or have a nose about in our page sources. You will find we use publically available code and infact pride ourselves on spending more time gluing code together than writing it. We give credit where we can and if you think we have used your code without permission then please let us know.
We don't actively collect personal information. However, if you choose to register we will record your id, email and password. You can remove your account at anytime by signing on and checking "delete my account". We don't actively use cookies although we use them for storing variables that are used on this website exclusively to display certain information and to aid in navigation. When you sign out or close the browser the cookies should expire immediately. If you do not allow cookies then the sign on process will not work. Like most web sites our ISP provides us with statistics of visits which include pages hit, browser type, IP addresses, location etc. Knowing which pages are hit helps us concentrate and direct our limited resources on these areas and in an ideal world we would share this out but a) we could lie about our hit rate b) we hardly look at it c) nobody else shows you theirs.
We do not resell the information we collect or take inducements to include
items (now that is a shame). Different jurisdictions have rules on data protection
and we abide by these.
